What exactly is covered with a maintenance plan?Updated 2 months ago

Your Worry-Free Maintenance plan covers:

  • Free loaner instrument 
  • Cleaning "as needed" or by technician recommendation

String Instruments

  • String replacements
  • Body, pegs, fine tuners, tailpiece, chin rest, bow (including bow hair)
  • Body separations and open seams

Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Saxophone

  • Keys, pads, corks, mouthpiece or headjoint, body and case
  • Adjustments, bent or broken parts, chips, cracks
  • Dents, if instrument playability is impaired
  • Cleaning for instrument playability

Trombone

  • Slide, slide latch, water key, mouthpiece and case
  • Corks, slide problems, replacement as needed and stuck mouthpieces
  • Cleaning if needed for instrument playability

Trumpet, Baritone, Tuba

  • Valves, slides, springs, corks, mouthpiece and case
  • Adjustments, sticking or bent valves and stuck mouthpieces
  • Dents, if instrument playability is impaired
  • Cleaning for instrument playability

Percussion, Snare & Bell Kit, Marimba, Xylophone

  • Split drum heads, stripped lugs, shells and case
  • Keyboard frames, pins, bars, cord, resonators and case

Total Instrument Replacement

If your instrument is stolen, damaged/destroyed in a house or car fire, Schmitt Music will replace it with a comparable instrument at no additional charge.

Conditions:

  • You must have the maintenance plan on your instrument and your account must be current at the time of the incident.
  • You must provide a police or fire department report to receive a replacement instrument.
  • The replacement may be a different brand or model.
